Audio Visual Stimulation
Audio Visual Stimulation (AVS) – also known as brainwave entrainment (BWE) or mind machine – has a beneficial overall effect on the brain and other structures: EEG-activity, limbic structures, skin temperature, production of neurotransmitters and cerebral blood flow.
The effect goes from relaxing to invigorating the brain. This wide application allows AVS to be used by sports psychologists with their athletes, students, managers and senior citizens. It helps with anxiety- and attention related problems (e.g. sleep disturbances, mood swings, ADHD), stress, pain related symptoms and it can be a good tool for senior citizens with short-term memory problems.
AVS can help with anxiety, headache, sleep problems, depression, tinnitus, but also attention (e.g. ADHD) and/or learning problems and age related memory decline as many senior citizens experience. Clients are relieved when exposed to the adequate flashing lights and tones.
