Biofeedback and Heart Rate Variability

With Biofeedback you measure different bodily functions: Muscle activity, skin conductance, skin temperature, breathing or heart rate variability (HRV). In biofeedback treatment body functions are instantaneously fed back (optically, acoustically) and the positive change in body functioning is enhanced – consciously or unconsciously. So it’s a learning process.

Especially Heart Rate Variability training with resonant breathing is very promising for better health and to positively influence physiological functions. With HRV and resonant breathing you not only address breathing functions and baroreflex, but also cardiovascular, immune and hormone systems. Heart rate variability (HRV) is a very significant noninvasive tool for assessment and training.

Biofeedback has been successfully applied without any side effects in many chronic conditions like back pain, headache, anxiety (e.g. stage fright or bruxism) hypertonia, tinnitus, irritable bowl syndrome, incontinence, ADHD or sleep problems.
